Our engineer will advise the best type of automation options based on single or double leaf gate, sliding, swing or cantilever, taking into consideration the size, weight, and frequency of use. Swing gates have the choice of above or below ground automation, hydraulic or electro mechanical motors. Sliding and Cantilever are all above ground automation with Electro-mechanical operators.
Depending on the voltage of the system you choose, your gates will need to comply with current safety legislation of the Machine Directive 2006/42/EC. Our engineer will advise you of additional mandatory features that will need to be installed on your system.

Gate Servicing and Maintenance
As an owner of gate machinery it is your responsibility to ensure your equipment receives regular maintenance, this is in order to comply with the Machine Directive 2006. Regular maintenance will prolong the life of your equipment; this check can highlight any areas of concern that could develop in the future. Prevention is better than a cure!! During a service our engineers will carry out all the necessary checks and maintenance to ensure that your gates continue to run smoothly.

It is essential under the Machine Directive 2006, that all new motorised gates are to be force tested and risk assessed for compliance under the regulations. Due to changes in legislation some older gate systems may not comply with current regulations. We can quote to upgrade your gate safety features as required under the Machine Directive 2006.
Barrier units and bollards are risk assessed to ensure that the design prevents pedestrian injury. A force test checks that gates do not exceed 400 Newton Force and that adequate safety equipment is in place to cover any potential crush zone.
